Students are starting to get comfortable in their daily class schedules as we approach the four-week mark in our 2017 to 2018 school year. On Tuesday, September 19, Tustin High School will welcome parents to Back to School Night. This gives parents an opportunity to get to know the student’s teachers and to gain an understanding of what goes on in the classrooms.
Mrs. Joanna Vandal, an AVID teacher at Tustin High School, provides insight as to what she’ll showcase in her classroom. She states, “As an AVID teacher, I will be providing to parents the college admissions process, financial aid information, and scholarship opportunities for students.”
In addition, teachers will answer any questions that the parents have about the information on the syllabuses which provides general classroom policies, the grading rubrics, and other additional information about the teachers and the classes. According to Mr. Hughes, the Economics teacher at Tustin High, his main goal during Back to School Night is to inform the parents of what goes on in his classroom so there is no confusion between the parent and the student.
Be sure to mark your calendar, September 19 is fast approaching, come check out Tustin High School’s Back to School Night from 6 to 8 pm.
