On March 9, the 2017-18 NFL season began, meaning that teams are able to sign free agents and conduct trades. In other words, players end up on new teams or resign with their current team.
As of March 9, multiple trade deals have gone down. The New England Patriots made two trades: the first was a deal for star receiver Brandin Cooks and a fourth round pick in exchange for a first and fourth round pick in this years draft from the New Orleans Saints. The second Patriots trade was with the Carolina Panthers who sent defensive end Kony Ealy and a third round pick to the Pats for their second round pick. Also, the Browns traded a fourth round pick to the Texans and acquired quarterback Brock Osweiler along with a second and sixth round pick. The Browns agreed to take all of the $16 million dollars left on Osweiler’s contract after an abysmal year with the Texans.
