Founded in 2012, 20 year old Erin Yogasundram, current owner, was attending George Washington University in Washington D.C. when she decided to splurge on a little birthday present for herself – a $3,000 Celine luggage tote she had been dying to have. This expensive purchase made Erin realize that she wanted to start a boutique with fun fashion rather than make those impulse purchases on expensive handbags. Soon after, she sold her Celine tote and used the money as an initial investment to create the foundation for her now famous online store Shop Jeen.
Erin brought on board Amelia Muqbel, a friend she had met years before while interning at the fashion house of Alexander Wang, as the Creative Director in January of 2013 and this partnership soon gave voice to the Internet frenzy that is Shop Jeen.
Some of the items you may find at the store range from graphic tees and colorful skirts to emoji pillows and princess iPhone cases. The items on the site are on the costly side, but the quality and uniqueness of the products compensate for the price.
