Tustin High is proud of our girls’ water polo, boys’ soccer, boys’ and girls’ basketball, and boys’ and girls’ wrestling teams who all managed to snag a spot in CIF. The girl’s water polo team finished second, behind Cypress in the empire league with a 4-1-0 record and an overall record of 10-6-0. The girls will be competing at Temescal Canyon for their first CIF match against Temescal Canyon on Thursday at 5 p.m.

The boys’ soccer team will also be on the road for their first round CIF match against Lawndale at 3 p.m. The boys finished their season in second place, behind the undefeated Valencia, with a 5-5-0 record.

Both girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball successfully clinched a spot in CIF this season. Girls’ basketball finished second behind Cypress and with a solid 7-3 record. They will be playing at our Sports Pavillion (The Barn) on Saturday at 7 p.m. against El Modena who finished third in the North Hills League. Tustin’s boys’ basketball squad had an unbelievable season. They went undefeated (10-0) and took home the Empire League title. Not only did they beat every team in league, they managed to crush most of the teams with a lead of double digits almost every game. The boys will be competing in a home game (in The Barn) against Schurr High School on Friday at 7 p.m.

Also qualifying for CIF, are the girls’ and boys’ wrestling teams. The boys will compete at Santa Maria on Friday and Saturday and girl wrestler Jasmine Cordero (senior) will be competing at Visilia on Friday and Saturday. Tustin High wishes the best of luck to all of the qualifying teams this week in their first round games. Bring home the wins Tillers!
